The store he had chosen was on a main trunk road so he knew that it would have several visitors during the day. Dave sat and waited for a few minutes to make sure that they had got into the store and were open before plucking up the courage to grab his bag and enter. The paddling stopped and the lady reappeared at the counter with the paddle in her hand. He went for the tried and tested ice bag to his nether regions. She then wrote something else. Dave sat for awhile. Not speaking to the store manager or assistant he didn’t want to ruin the silent scene he had started. He sat for a few minutes knowing he could still back out, get changed and run for the hills, but he also knew he had to do this. He had no idea there was already a few people in the store. The store assistant came back over with a note pad and stood writing something before turning it and showing Dave the message.
